Svedjerug: A video essay
Aschim Vestre, Brandbu, Norway

"We don't need a museum for conserving varieties. What we want is to  grow them."
— Johan Swärd

Johan and Kristin Swärd are the founders of Aschim Vestre, a biodynamic grain farm of 300 acres in Hadeland, Norway. Their mission is to breed and disseminate their varietes, to provide information to other stakeholders and to society at large, to maintain biological diversity within northern agriculture, and to establish a Norwegian gene bank at Swärd's farm.
